mission

The artclash collective is a Philadelphia-based group of artists who came together in late 2004 to organize art projects and shows that aimed to be fun, inclusive, and participatory. Their longest-running project, the Fun-A-Day Community Art Show, was established in 2005 to create a welcoming forum for people to share their art and form a community, and as such has always been free, all-ages, non-juried, and non-commercial. The Artclash Collective wants to help people embrace their creativity and inspire everyone to make art!

Fun-a-Day shows continue to happen all over the world, independently run by local organizers inspired by The Artclash Collective's example.

artclash collective

The elusive group known as the artclash collective is made up by an ever changing roster of enthusiastic art admirers. These are the suspected initiators of the collective:

Nick Lally “The Architect.” The original driving force who got the ball rolling.

Mike Servedio “The Invisible Hand.” Forever dedicated to the vision.

Kara Schlindwein “The Voice.” Coined the name “Fun-A-Day.”

Corey Bechelli “The Steward.” Claims to practice “Fun-A-Day Forever.”

Lest we forget:

Gina Renee Fontana “The Magician.” Unstoppable force of creative power.

Sharon Wasko “The Legend.” Also started and maintains Fun-A-Day Hudson Valley.

Morgan Andrews “The Man on the Inside.” Indefatigable supporter of the cause.

Sarah Golomb Sarah Golomb studied anthropology at Temple University, but has always kept her hands wet with creativity (sewing experiments…street furniture salvaging). She experienced Fun-A-Day Philly as an audience member- loved it and was inspired. She moved to Portland and couldn't imagine this city without it, and she needed to participate this time!
